Product Description
So you found your prince charming. He swept you off your feet with romantic dates and fun memories you'll never forget. Now he has asked you that question you've been dying to hear. Will you marry me? Of all the flowers and chocolates he's bought you and the little sentimental gifts, the sparkling diamond that now sits on your finger is the best of them all. You are getting married and having a wedding!
As excited as you are about that wedding day if you're like many women you are thinking - now what? I have so much to do in planning for this wedding - where do I start? This series is meant to help you answer that question and many more in planning one of - if not THE - most exhaustive events of your life. This wedding planning time should be full of joy, laughter and maybe a few happy tears, but if the planning is not done properly and organized well it can quickly lead to anger, arguments and tears of frustration.
You may think that you are having a small wedding ceremony or that you are already a great planner and don't need the help and that may be so, but even the smallest wedding needs to be well-planned for things to go smoothly.
I am a highly organized person and when I got married I planned to have a small wedding of no more than 100 guests, children included. Already having excellent organization skills I saw no reason to research about how to go about planning a wedding, honeymoon, and life thereafter. So I dove in head first. There were phone calls, purchases, decorations, food, clothing, engagement photos, wedding day before and after photos, wedding invitations, guests, seating, gifts, music...it was dizzying. I had planned, or so I thought, down to the very last detail and yet when the wedding day came there was so much I had missed and thing after thing came tumbling down. Looking back, I'm relieved at how much actually went right that day. Most of it is due to my mother and many friends who stepped up to fix things that I never knew happened. But as I look back I realize many things I could have done so very differently to have eased the day given the proper wedding planning. I would have enjoyed it much more, as would my friends and family. Having now helped several friends and family members with their wedding planning I have seen quite a few things go wrong and have learned many more ways to help them go right.
My purpose for these wedding books is to help you with proper wedding planning etiquette, avoid wedding planning pitfalls and guide you through the overwhelming amount of decisions with a better understanding and more organized view of things. This includes the decisions for your honeymoon and preparations for your life after it's all over. (An often overlooked section that is just as, if not more, important than the actual wedding itself.) In addition to guiding you through all the wedding planning events I have included, in this series, many wedding planning ideas and tips to boost your creative side. You may not need every book in this series, but this first book is a MUST. You have a LOT to do, so I kept everything as simple as I could - your personal wedding planning 101.
Every wedding is different and no wedding will turn out exactly as you plan, but the better you plan, the less likely things will go wrong and the easier it will be for you to keep smiling when the unexpected does happen.
